Set up a private match with no AI on each of the following maps. The rest of the Golden Gnomes are found throughout the Multiplayer Maps, 2 in each Team Vanquish map and 6 in each Gardens & Graveyards map. Use Foot Soldier's Rocket Jump to clear the gap and collect the Gnome. Walk forward and turn around until you have a clear view of the back wall, where a Golden Gnome is sitting on a ledge. #14/54: In the Zombie base, drop down the hatch next to Dr. There is a Golden Gnome on the bookshelf in the right corner of the room. #13/54: As a zombie, go into the Hero Portal for Ol' Deadbeard, and go towards him at his desk, then go right to enter his bedroom.

The Golden Gnome is sitting in the driver seat of a small red go-kart. #12/54: As a zombie, go into the Hero Portal for Steve the Z-Mech. Walk up to the staircase to the left of where Super Duper Brainz is standing, and collect the Golden Gnome behind the statue. #11/54: As a zombie, go into the Hero Portal for Super Duper Brainz. #10/54: Respawn as a zombie and head towards the mansion, then go past the Multiplayer Portal on the left side of the mansion, where a Golden Gnome is leaning against a tombstone near the gate. A log will pop out of the river on the left side with a Golden Gnome on top. On the bridge over the lake, find a Mushroom Button on the left side of the bridge and shoot it. #9/54: Once you have completed the main quests for the plants, go down into the secret passage in Dave-Bot's garage that is unlocked by completing the main quests. Once inside, go straight ahead of the portal entrance and collect the Golden Gnome on a table to the left. #8/54: As a plant, go into the Hero Portal for Agent Citron. Shoot the Mushroom Button and the part of the fountain will explode, revealing a Golden Gnome inside. Behind the fountain on the right side there is a Mushroom Button. #7/54: As a plant, go into the Hero Portal for Agent Rose. Behind the copper pipes is a Golden Gnome. Use a character like Scientist or Citron to cross the gap and go onto a narrow catwalk above the sludge. If you look across the gap, then there should be a pair of copper pipes on the left side of the wall. #6/54: While you're still in the sewers, look for a narrow footpath that connects two platforms. Down the corridor, and on the right side of the wall is a Golden Gnome behind some iron bars. #5/54: Go into the sewers via the entrance closest to the Zombie base, where you found Toxic Brainz during the Zombie Campaign, and go left. Look inside the drainage pipe to find a Golden Gnome.
#4/54: Go to the far side of the marketplace, near the Docks, and go behind where there is a drainage pipe on the wall near the water. When you are on the back of the stands, then jump on top of the scoreboard, where a Golden Gnome is located. Walk along the edge of the stands until you are behind the scoreboard.
#3/54: Travel to the sports field in the city area and go up the stands (or bleachers, if you prefer to call them that). #2/54: On the table next to the car that is outside of Dave-bot 3000's Garage. If you have collected any of these already, when you get to their location there will be a see-through gnome standing in its place. I'll take you through the ones that appear in the Backyard first, then I'll take you through the multiplayer maps. I'll also link a video, if that's what you prefer, with all credit going to the original creator of the video. This first one was in the Agent Corn area, behind the barn ( #1/54). You should have already collected your first Golden Gnome, assuming you followed the Campaign.
Make sure you're on of these before you start hunting. The best characters you use for this are the Peashooter, for his jump ability, Citron, for his boost jump, Super Brainz for his longer jump and kick to travel between hard to reach areas, or the Imp, to use his boosters to fly across short areas. Now, you can try to get them during proper multiplayer games, or you can make it much easier and set up Custom Games and have no AI on either team. In the Backyard, in the Agent Bases and in Multiplayer Maps. These Golden Gnomes are spread out everywhere. However, since the Trials of Gnomus DLC, this is no longer true. Originally, you were required to find certain number of them to unlock the Chamber of Gnomes, and other areas. You'll find 54 Golden Gnomes around the map.
